Panasonic Lumix Camera Review

This Canon model was the one I have searched for a whole month. All I wanted was a point-and-shoot camera that wouldn't be too pricey (something in the range of 0 or even below) for my occasional photography needs. Initially I wanted something light and ultra-portable, a camera that I can carry in my pocket without even noticing it so that I can use it whenever I don't have my Dslr with me, but I couldn't help it when I saw this model and decided to buy it.

What specifically attracted me was the huge 10x optic zoom, which you cannot find in a lot of cameras in this segment, and also the Image Stabilization chip, which also isn't that base in low-end cameras.

After the first few weeks of using it, the whole sense is good. Let me get over a few key points.

In auto mode it shoots with Iso 200, which is obviously not the best choice, you will need to retouch the photos in Photoshop to take off the noise. If you own such a camera, unless you are shooting outside late in the evening, I strongly recommend you to switch to agenda mode and set it to Iso 80 to get great results.

Speaking of dim light, unless you are shooting a still subject or you can lean your camera against something steady, like a bar, wall or lighting pole, you should use the flash, or your photos will come out blurry. The focusing can sometimes be annoyingly slow in low light, and you cannot afford to wait a combine of seconds if you want to immortalize a candid scene.

The ability of video clips is great, far great than other CyberShot models I have tested. The only drawback is that you cannot use optic zoom while the shooting, only zooming digitally will work.

The 3 inch display is great. It comes with a high resolution and, my favorite, it sticks out from the camera, allowing you to maneuver the camera better. On-screen rotation of the pictures is also one of my dearest features, no more tilting your camera to 90 degrees to get a portrait shot. Macro mode works great, I would say great than with other similar models, the depth and ability of details is simply breath-taking.

I wouldn't recommend getting a Canon PowerShot Sx110Is for occasional photos. There are smaller, lighter and faster models that would fit you better. However, if you want great results with a low-end point-and-shoot gadget, then this one is for you!
