Panasonic Lumix Dmc-L1: Their 1st Ever Digital Slr Camera with Interchangeable Lenses
Panasonic has announced the start date for the Dmc-L1, its first digital single-lens reflex (Slr) camera with interchangeable lens. From 22nd July 2006 this camera will be ready in Japan and already looks set to be a firm favourite.
Leica D Lens provides a classic optic operation and matches perfectly with the digital Slr camera body
The Dmc-L1 has a new Leica D Vario-Elmarit 14-50mm/F2.8-3.5 lens adequate with an aperture ring, focus ring and zoom ring, for easy, direct aperture setting. The focal distance range is equivalent to 28mm (wide) to 100mm (medium telescopic) on a 35mm film and provides exceptional results.
The lens also provides superior macro shooting due to a 29cm minimum shooting distance (0.32x maximum magnification, 35mm equivalent) across the whole zoom range.
Superb image rendering with Mega O.I.S
The Dmc-L1 comes with Panasonic's optic Image Stabiliser feature which minimises jitter from shaky hands. Thanks to the gyrosensors and Venus machine Plus Lsi built into the lens, the ideas detects camera movement at a rate of 4,000 times per second
O.I.S features two further medicinal modes. Mode one constantly and continuously compensates for movements, ensuring that the image in the Lcd and viewfinder is always clear. Mode two only stabilises the image the instant the shutter button is pressed. Both modes work with the Dmc-L1, providing consumers with superior benefits. Mode one will be ready for Olympus users if they are using the new Leica D lens.
Refined develop makes the camera a delight to hold and use
This new camera features a shutter speed dial on top of the camera body, enhancing the sense of camera control. Combined with a classic develop this ensure the Panasonic Lumix Dmc-L1 is clear in both develop and operation. The body periphery and grip are covered with textured, simulated leather ensuring a derive and comfortable hold.
Complies with Four Thirds(Tm)* accepted
The Dmc-L1 incorporates a live Mos sensor that conforms to the Four Thirds accepted and offers 7.5 megapixels. It can be used with lenses made by a range of manufacturers, giving users a host of tool options. Noise is minimised by a special processing technology the runs on voltage as low as 5V.
*Four Thirds? is a registered trademark.
The power of the Venus machine Iii Lsi
The Venus machine Iii is a newly industrialized image processing Lsi which maximises the operation of the Live Mos sensor. Gift high resolution, classic colour pregnancy and detailed gradation, the Venus machine Iii also reduces noise to the level anticipated from a digital Slr, thus achieving striking photo quality. The Venus machine Iii also improves camera responsiveness supporting high-performance consecutive shooting and a short shutter interval. The Venus machine Iii requires only 80% as much power as its predecessor and when combined with the Live Mos sensor's low energy consumption results in longer battery life.
Full-time Live View for a whole new style of Digital Slr shooting
The heart of a digital Slr is the mirror box unit, which integrates a quick-return mirror, viewfinder, and Ae sensor. This, combined with the full-time image output function of the Live Mos sensor, achieves a full-time Live View function that displays the image on the Lcd directly from the sensor signal. This incredibly beneficial function can be selected in both Auto Focus and hand-operated Focus modes. In hand-operated Focus, photographers can advance an image within the frame and then go for the area focusing, production it easier to check the focusing condition on the large 2.5inch, high resolution, 207,000 pixel Lcd. It is also potential to check the depth of field by pressing the aperture button.
Shake off dust with the Supersonic Wave Filter system
A big qoute with digital Slrs with interchangeable lenses is the possibility of dust getting inside the camera during the lens changes and contaminating the image sensor. If this happens, professional cleaning is often required. The Dmc-L1 manages this qoute by incorporating a Supersonic Wave Filter dust reduction, which uses supersonic vibration to shake off dust that might otherwise affect the image.
A Digital Slr Gift home networking capabilities
As with all Panasonic Lumix cameras, the Dmc-L1 is uses Sd memory and is also compatible with mass-storage Sd accepted based on Fat32. This includes the upcoming super-high-capacity Sd Memory Cards allowing more than 2Gb (Sdhc).

One of the most essential downsides to choosing Dslrs is the added bulk, and photography enthusiasts who were looking to make the shift to professional cameras are often turned-off by the sheer size of most models. Ever since the first compact interchangeable lens camera was released, investment has been up as to the hereafter of the compact camera market.
The Limitations in Dslrs Technology
To begin with Dslr cameras came in-built with large sensors and a mirror box that well hindered video recording. The first video-compatible releases from Nikon, the D90, and later Canon's Eos 5D set new standards to Dslr technology. The Micro Four-Thirds mirror-less law was first established in late 2008, and since then there has truly been no turning back with Slr models getting permanently upgraded with new highlight enhancements.
Resolving the Size Issue
Given that Panasonic and Olympus have been true pioneers in developing the technology that would be the basis that breaks the size barrier, the first few Slr models that promised much smaller designs were from Panasonic. The Lumix range of Dslr releases were nearly two times lighter than the first Nikon releases that could shoot video footage, a essential achievement for Dslrs at that time. The Lumix Dmc-G1 from Panasonic was the first mirror-less interchangeable lens camera to be released, and proved to be a milestone release even though it could not description videos.
Video Compatibility
Although the first few compact models could shoot only still pictures, Olympus changed that with the Pen E-P1, a breakthrough release that could shoot Hd videos at 720p. Panasonic's Lumix Gf1 was other essential model that impacted the compact interchangeable lens category, given its ergonomic design that still supported high-definition video recording with plenty of customization options in-built. The year 2009 saw a string of releases from Olympus and Panasonic, which set the stage for the dynamic compact interchangeable lens design, creating a visually enchanting range of models that at once set them apart from the typical Dslr blueprint.
When New Technologies Unfold
As with any technological innovation, competition spurred other camera manufacturers to invest in engineering developed mirror-less systems to compete with the Micro Four-Thirds technology. The use of Aps-C sensors on models such as Samsung's Nx100 promised many highlight enhancements, although several downsides such as poor video recording fast turned this into yet other learning curve.
The True compact Dslr Arrives
The Alpha Nex range of sophisticated releases from Sony well and truly marked the age of the compact interchangeable-lens camera. With resolutions up to 14.2 megapixels, excellent video and still photograph quality, and a revolutionary panaromic mode, the Nex-5 offered 3D compatibility and design specs that were nothing short of spectacular. Where Panasonic made the dent in the market, Sony blazed right into the spotlight with a release that made many Dslr models seem insignificant in comparison.
With ground-breaking releases including Sony Alpha Nex-C3 and Olympus Pen Mini, the shrinking sizes herald a new starting in the area of personal gadgetry. From touchscreen releases to models that promise lightning-fast continuous shooting as well as 3D video recording, the interchangeable lens compact models are becoming one of the most developed pieces of engineering yet.
